The Southern Quilt Trail
After some of our members discoved quilt trails in the
Midwest, New England and the southeast, the Southern Quilt
Trail, a new trail  was created in Powder Springs, GA, by the
Seven Springs Historical Society.  The trail has expanded to
include five counties, including Carroll.  The Bowdon Area
Historical society was presented with the idea of creating a
trail in Bowdon, by Marcia McGahee in 2008.

The Star, painted by Jim and Judy Rowell and sponsored by Bowdon
Area Historical Society, Dr. Matt McCord, Messer Hardware, Bowdon
High School Ag Ed Department and the City of Bowdon was hung in
Bowdon Station (God's Gym) in September of 2009. Since that time
three additional patterns have been added.

The Southern Quilt Trail strives to promote and preserve the history
of traditional Folk Art quilt patterns that have been handed down for
generations.
